Rotary Kiln

A rotary kiln is a giant, rotating oven used to transform materials at high temperatures. It's a long, steel cylinder lined with fire-resistant bricks, tilted slightly. As it rotates, raw materials enter one end, travel through the heat (generated by a flame or burning fuel), and exit the other end chemically changed. These kilns are workhorses in industries like cement production, lime production, and waste incineration. Their efficiency depends on factors like burner operation and material flow, and they can be up to 200 meters long and reach temperatures of 1500°C.
